ABOUT US

Salted Lemon produces work grounded in the messiness of our daily lives, needs, aspirations, and failings. We foster the work of up-and-coming artists in a rich and respectful community, committed to telling human stories.

make it bitter sweet.

Salted Lemon was launched in January 2024 to produce BUZZER by Tracey Scott Wilson at Court Square Theatre in Long Island City. Gloria Bangiola had been holding onto this play for a while, waiting for the right partners to produce it with. She met two fellow actors, Vincent Van der Velde and Langston Reese at an industry workshop series and it all clicked. The three formed production company Salted Lemon and brought on director Toni Kwadzogah to produce their inaugural production, a limited run of the play in May 2024. In Summer 2025, Gloria formed Salted Lemon’s LLC and become sole owner and CEO. Through continued partnership with her fellow founders, as well as blossoming relationships with new artists, Salted Lemon is now developing several projects for the screen and stage.

A Personal Note about Salted Lemon

from Gloria Bangiola, CEO

I’ve always been a doer — someone who seeks life out rather than waiting for it to come to me. In the past decade, I’ve lived in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey (of course not Staten Island), sometimes all in the course of a month. I’ve taught voice, piano, choir, and general music across the tri-state area, while obtaining a Master’s in Vocal Performance and Meisner training, all while performing in plays, films, and professional choirs. I’ve created my own cabarets, folk albums (available on spotify), and most recently co-produced and starred in my first feature, GLUE TRAP.

I have big “can-do” energy. If I’m out with friends and someone shares a harebrained dream, I’m the one saying “Hell Yes! Here’s how we’re gonna do it.” I’m passionate about everything– friendships, teaching, family, acting, singing, producing, cabaret, choir, cooking, poetry, film, theater…the list goes on. I’ve spent my adult life attempting to balance the many facets of my life. And I’ve come to realize each one supports the other. A teacher fosters their student’s growth and innate gifts. A producer does the same. A producer fosters collaboration, and guides a vision, just as a teacher does. Listening is the foundation of acting, and is just as often found in production meetings and the classroom as on stage. All these overlapping experiences, skills, and passions have coalesced in Salted Lemon.

Especially now, being an artist requires a radical commitment, and often, a lonely one. It’s hard to make anything, from a one-woman cabaret, to a limited run of a play, to a feature film. I want to produce, perform, teach, and foster a home for dreamers at Salted Lemon — one that can last for years to come.
